A Handcrafting Discovery

What started as a casual pursuit of a hobby bloomed into a house full of handcrafted flowers.

My appreciation and constant search for creativity and visceral beauty transported me to a weeklong artistic botanical crafting workshop in the South of France in the fall of 2019.

Growing up in Asia, I was surrounded by the simple but exotic beauty of tropical gardens. I was exposed to the distinct scents, familiar colors and textures of the likes of the Sampaguita (a species of jasmine), the Kalachuchi (also known as Plumeria Rubra), the Rosal (another jasmine plant) and the intensely fragrant Champaca (a varietal of magnolia). These take me back to my childhood days of how a single flower can create a lasting memory.

When our world shut down in 2020, I resorted to creating art using crepe paper. An unintentional yet increasingly passionate flower maker I became. Busy but with very happy hands.

My objective is to craft beautiful flowers that capture nature not just in its perfect essence but also in its many unexpected playful forms.
